Blinded by Baker...Ted Baker

Eight years ago Dr Love took me to the Europe for the very first time.  It was unforgettable.  So many sights, so many memories and so many fabulous things that I still to this day regret not buying.  So when we touched down at Heathrow two weeks ago I vowed and declared that despite my modest budget, if I came across something so wonderful that I simply couldn't live without, then I was going to buy it.  So I did.  This is my Ted Baker jacket.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I saw it on my first visit to John Lewis (the David Jones of the UK) and fell instantly in love and really...can you blame me.  It was a bright beacon, calling to me just as soon as the automatic doors announced my arrival.  Blinded by it's oh so glamorous beauty, I made a bee-line straight to it and began searching out the price. was a tad pricey...£199 pounds pricey to be exact (approx. $320) and I was a bit shy on forking out so much money so early in the adventure.  But oh how it haunted me.  It was one my colours after all and when you find something in one of your colours you simply have to give it due consideration, even if it does bite into a big chunk of your budget.  So after much consideration and irrational promises around a more concerted effort to reverse save, I brought it and I am so glad I did, because when I climbed onto the Eurostar enroute to Paris with my new Ralph Lauren jeans and navy converse sneakers, I looked fabulous. Au Reviour MFS xxx

There is absolutely no doubt about it...I love a good bargain.  I especially love a good bargain when I'm abroad and on a budget, which incidently does seem to expand by just a little bit each day.  Shopping in the UK has been so much more exciting than I ever dreamed and now that I've managed to navigate myself away from the hissy fit of several weeks ago and get myself into a nice pattern of scoping out all the opportunities befitting the smallest-wardrobe-in-the-world, I am having a fabulous time.  I will catch you up on the all the wonderful and amazing purchases I have made over the last two weeks - has it really been that long - including my fabulous purple Ted Baker coat but in the meantime I simply had to share my latest prize.  These Guess heels had been reduced from £80 to £55 pounds with an additional 20 per cent off the lowest marked price.  A bargain already in anyone's book considering the price of Guess shoes down under.  Imagine therefore my delight when I took them up to the cashier and found out they had been further reduced to a piddly £29 pounds.  Oh joy of joys.  I just love the UK.  Take care MFS xxx

Four hours and counting....

Make no mistake boys and girls, when I return from my much anticipated holiday to the UK and Paris, I will be bringing back at least three new pairs of shoes and a couple of handbags!  And that, my friends, is being generous.  We are only a few hours away from lift off, and so far everything has gone according to least it will if I can find the teeny tiny pink mary-jane shoe that has been missing since lunch time!  I had fully intended on banging out a couple of pre-holiday blog posts prior to take-off but the week has been somewhat hectic and suddenly here we are.  Sadly I won’t have time to impart my thoughts and feelings on compromising one’s wardrobe for the sake of touring the streets of some far off and exotic lands in comfort.  Instead you’ll just have to trust my judgement and believe me when I tell you, tourist or no tourist I will not be resorting as I have on previous trips to pair of non-descript denims and runners!  I will however endeavour to post as I go and share with you some of my finds and plenty of my adventures.  Until then fabulous fashionistas...bon voyage.
